Congrats Hiram and Monica Cueto married on 8/8/08!!

Hiram and Monica Cueto were married on 8/8/08 due to their love AND due to their love of the number 8!  (Monica’s birthday is November 8th., her son is the 18th, Hiram asked her to be his girlfriend on March 8th, and they got engaged on December 8th!) One of Monica’s friends had gotten married on Maui and told the couple it was “The best decision I’ve ever made!”  The couple was already about two months into the process of planning a wedding in California but with mounting stress they decided to take their friends advice for a Maui wedding and honeymoon.  After their lovely ceremony with 6 guests at Kapalua Bay, they too realize that their destination weddings on Maui was also their best decision.

The couple first met at a restaurant in January of 2006 where a friend was playing violin in her mariachi band.  Hiram approached Monica and even after an initial “no thanks”, refused to give up and by the end of the night he landed her phone number.  Phone conversations led to a first date at a comedy show.  Before long Hiram proposed  in the most  uniquely romantic way at the time of a little rain storm…in the driveway of home at 2am in front of his truck!  Regardless, she said “yes”!  When asked about his favorite memory of their wedding day, Hiram states it was when he picked up Monica in his arms and kissed her in front of the sunset.  Monica says that her favorite was when she was walking down the aisle and looked up to see Hiram who had the “cutest smile and look in his eyes and also looked very handsome.”  She recalls that she couldn’t wait to get to him.  Earlier on their wedding day Hiram briefly caught a quick glimpse of his bride when he showed up at her door needing a razor.  She said she was yelling at him through the door, “What are you doing here?  I can’t believe you came over here! “  They both had a great laugh as he says she slammed the door so fast that he only got a view of the top corner of her forehead.

The couple has four children altogether and live in Bakersfield where Hiram works for an oil refinery and loves to work on his 1960 Impala as well as watch football..CHICAGO BEARS.  Monica is a case manager for a psychiatrist and is also hoping to be an R.N. !  The way the couple rolls the “8’s” we know they will be back…sooner or later.

CONGRATS JEFF & JUSTYNA HENKE

              June 23rd., 2008

North Ka’anapali Beach by Maui Eldorado Cabana

Justyna Kruk moved to the United States from Poland when she was just 15 years old…convinced that she would meet the love of her life.  Her dream came true when she met  Jeff Henke as their jobs in the mortgage industry brought the two of them together in what sounds a fairy tale ending.  After 4 years of dating Jeff popped the question on the beach at Naples, Florida on March 45, 2007.   Their love for the ocean made the decision to be married in a “Hawaiian Paradise” an easy one.  For six months Justyna fine tuned all the details for the ceremony which would include her son, Sebastian (9 years old), her mother, Jeff’s mom, brother, sister, brother in law and their precious infant son, Jimmy.  The couple wanted a beach that would be a little less crowded  during the busy summer and thus we suggested the ceremony be near the cabana area at the Maui Eldorado on North Ka’anapali Beach at a perfect spot for the placement of the “Circle of Flowers”.  Sebastian escorted his mom proudly down the aisle as the harpist played softly to the beat of the waves.   Pastor Christ Martin performed the ceremony and  with just a few tourists passing by and admiring the beautiful ceremony, the couple were able to enjoy their privacy and still enjoy some spectacular views of the island of Moloka’I and Black Rock.  After the sunset photos, the couple went to the Plantation House Restaurant at Kapalua for dinner. ( They were so happy with the food and service that they went back for  breakfast the next day AND one day later returned once more to take all of their wedding guests for breakfast! )  They now reside with their son and their beloved feline,  “Miss Kitty” in Illinois.  They have already begun talking about their return to Maui for their 10th. wedding anniversary as they would like to once again renew their wedding vows on the beach.  Justyna has found the love of her life and really believes that dreams  really do come true!

CONGRATS NICK AND LYNETTE GALVAN!!
            October 18, 2007

          Photos by Ceasar Lizada

Lynette first met Nick as she enrolled her sons into his Karate class.
Eventually she began taking classes, they started dating and well..the rest
is history! The proposal occurred on Kaua'I but they chose Maui for the
wedding! Nick is also a firefighter and Lynette works as a bank executive.
They live in California and have three children and two dogs.

The couple made a research trip to Maui one year prior to their wedding day
just to check the weather and activities available and were referred to
Dolphin Dream Weddings by their timeshare company. We began researching
wedding and reception sites that would fit their style and their budget.
They wanted to do the wedding near their resort for convenience for their 45
guests so they selected a private garden area on Ka'anapali Beach just steps
from their resort and beach. In keeping with the tropical surroundings, a
tropical circle of flowers was added, some rose petals and SUNGLASSES! The
reception was held at PacificO Restaurant.  We worked closely with Lynette
to ensure that menus, décor and entertainment was exactly what she and Nick
had in mind. The reception topped off a perfect day and the as the d.j. played their favorite music, Nick, Lynette and their guests danced, danced, DANCED the night away!

8/8/8 Featured Wedding

From SIMPLE BEACH WEDDING on 8/8/08 to……..

….SIMPLY FUN.

Photos by Greg Hoxsie Photography, 2008

Every Maui wedding has an interesting story!

Guy and Gail married on 8/8/8 on South Maui in the company of Gail’s mother and father (87 and 90 years old) and yet an accident just two days after their ceremony forced some changes in the itinerary.  They were at Makena beach and enjoying the water when a large, rougue wave hit Gail just 3-5 feet from shore!   She was in quite a deal of pain and x-rays revealed that she had broken her leg!  She saw less beach time than initially planned but it certainly didn’t dampen their joy.  We were able to book them for Warren and Annabells Magic Show and they say that other than their wedding, that it was really a highlight of their trip. Gail is recovering well and hopes to return to Maui someday soon so she can get back on the beach again!  They chose Maui because when they bought their wedding rings in St. Thomas they learned that the rings they were purchasing were patterned like Big Beach and Little Beach in Makena, Maui.  Because it was her mothers “favorite place in the world” they felt it was appropriate to invite them to join them on their trip for their wedding on Maui.

The couple met in June of 2005 when they went to church and then to an outlet mall together.  (Apparently Gail was SHOPPING for a husband! Ha!)  He later proposed on July 6th. in honor of his father’s birthday.  Gail is a professor and works with families in Polk County, Wisconsin while Guy is a referee in the High School and College levels.  Guy also really enjoys working with children of different cultures and assisting them in school.  Their family now includes 9 kids and 7 grandchildren!  The family and friends are all invited to a large re-enactment of their wedding on the river at Marine-on the St. Croix.  They will arrive by canoe and implement some of their American Indian traditions into the ceremony.      Guy and Gail live in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota
